Deck the halls with boughs of holly... Yep, I've got Christmas songs well and truly in my head now, and as we near the festive season we'll be hit by more songs and decorations from every direction soon. That means it's time to deck the halls with some festive packaging - but first, have you sorted your colour scheme for this year? If that's a no then no worries! Check out our blog right here on 2024's top Christmas colour palettes for all you need to know, and then get yourself back here to find out how to turn that into a merry and bright packaging range!

So whether it's in some classic Christmassy colours like red or green, or if you're going for a simple black and white palette with some pretty metallic foil printing, there’s tonnes of sizes and styles of packaging you can go for for your products, from small trinkets to larger gifts.

Ready? Great! Let's crack on - we have gift boxes, Christmas Eve boxes, gift bags, advent calendars, cards, tags, tissue paper, wrapping paper, ribbons, and stickers...

Let’s start with the basics! Christmas boxes and bags:

Christmas gift boxes: Alrighty, first things first - t
hese beauties are the stars of the festive season - honestly, sometimes they can be almost as exciting as the gift itself. (Confession: I’m one of those people who often keeps the prettiest boxes because they're just too gorgeous to toss - so your customers may well want to do the same!) With different sizes and shapes out there, you'll be sure to find the right box to fit your brand and products.

Christmas Eve boxes:
These are great for adding to the build up just before the big day. Send them out to your customers and pop in some products to rev the excitement up like festive pyjamas and cosy socks, or cosmetics like bath bombs and face masks, or hot chocolate and other sweet treats. The best part? There's no age limit on who can enjoy them!

Christmas fabric bags: Another key element for Christmas packaging, either to keep your gift boxes company or as a solution all on their own. Cotton bags, say with pretty reindeer or bauble designs, are great for delicate pieces of jewellery, or larger sizes can be used for cosmetics, ornaments, etc etc.

Again, pretty pouches are reusable and double as keepsakes, so your customers can keep their stuff safe and sound long after the holidays. And again again, you can use some foil printing to add some shine and sparkle - either pre-printed or personalised for your brand.

Christmas gift bags: And of course there's the old classics - with either rope or paper twist handles,
paper gift bags provide a simple packaging solution for any product or an extra layer of surprise when used with a cotton bag or a gift box. And these too can be personalised with pretty foil or digital printing, to add your brand's message or logo and make it really stand out!

And now onto advent calendars - go beyond chocolate!

Christmas advent calendar boxes: Did you know they're surging in popularity? They’re now for all ages and make simply the best Christmas countdown - fill them with a lil taster of your products, whether it's cosmetic and beauty products, sweet treats, or 24 different types of tea!

Make Christmas come early for your customers while keeping your brand on their minds all December long - or you could go for a 12 day option if you'd like to include fewer products, perhaps for a more luxury offering. Either way, it’s a win-win for everyone!

How about some Christmas cards and wrapping paper?

Christmas cards: You know what I miss? Getting actual post. And as no Christmas packaging range is complete without a card - why not pop one in with your product’s packaging to show your appreciation to your loyal customers?

Opt for Christmassy designs like baubles or snowflakes, or they’re yet another place you could sneak your logo or some branding onto - either way they’re perfect for startups and businesses of all budgets if you’ve opted for plain packaging elsewhere!

Christmas gift tags: Another classic - either instead of or as well as cards to finish off your gift box or bag.

Christmas tissue paper: May seem like a minor detail, but it’s a great way to add a pop of colour to your packaging. Say you want to keep your gift boxes and bags simple with a black and white colour scheme, add some red or green tissue paper and bam - there’s a fun surprise for your customer when they open up their package.

It also serves as a great filler for items in transit, keeping your lovely products safe and sound while adding a luxurious and premium feel to the package. And it doesn’t have to break the bank either, so it’s well worth considering adding to your range particularly if you have more delicate products.

Christmas wrapping paper: Yet another staple of Christmas, so why not take a look at some designs to add to your festive range? It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas indeed!

And then tie it all up with Christmas ribbon and stickers…

Christmas ribbon: What’s a present without some ribbon? Tie some around your gift boxes and bags to jazz them up and bring some festive cheer. Ribbons also provide yet another opportunity to add your branding, or a simple Merry Christmas message for the cherry on top of a pretty holiday packaging solution.

Labels & stickers: Perfect for sealing boxes and decorating bags, they’ll add an extra element of prettiness to your packaging range with some festive flair. Customise them with your logo, or go all out with festive designs like reindeer, snowflakes, or Christmas trees. It’s all about those little details - and who doesn't like getting a sticker? (I know I do!)
