Legislation for plastic tax - updated on 10th February 2025:
As a business, you may need to pay Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT) if you’ve manufactured or imported plastic packaging components which contain less than 30% recycled plastic. It came into effect in April 2022 and is currently charged at a rate of £217.85 per tonne. Find out more here:
EU General Product Safety Regulation - published on 12th December 2024:
The new General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) - which aims to better protect EU consumers from dangerous non-food products sold offline or online - is replacing the current General Product Safety Directive and the Food Imitating Product Directive from 13th December 2024. Autumn budget - published on 11th November 2024:
